Den Chief, Paul Holmgren's Eagle Cout of Honor, Sept 20, 3pm, Redeemer Lutheran Church

Posted on Sep 19 2015 - 7:39am

Sunday, Sep 20, 3:00pm is Paul Holmgren's Eagle Court of Honor at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Nixa.  See attached invitation for details.  Very few scouts obtain scouting's highest honor, that of Eagle Scout, and very few also serve as Den Chief working with boys from the time they are Tiger's through their Arrow of Light.  Our boys are fortunate to have had this fine young man as part of this journey and as a role model in their lives.  Please join Paul and his family tomorrow to honor him for his achievement of Eagle Scout.  Thank you.  See attached invitation formmore details.

UPDATES on Camp Departure and Return Times

Posted on Jun 24 2015 - 8:49am
Cubs and Webelos going to camp will need to plan to be at the Robbie's Tire shop across from Nixa Christian at 11:45, in their swim trunks, class A, and be wearing a t-shirt preferably a Class B underneath.  Towels and sunscreen at the ready is a great idea as well.  We need to be ready to depart no later than 12:15.  Please ensure they have had lunch as we will not have anything prior to dinner Sunday.

Residence Camp Meeting Friday, June 19th, 6:00-6:30pm at Nixa Christian Church

Posted on Jun 14 2015 - 7:35pm

Residence Camp is coming up quickly.  I would like to offer up an opportunity for campers and parents to ask any questions and get camp info.  I will be available at Nixa Christian Church Friday eveningJune 19th, at 6:00pm for a short 30 minute meeting.  You can read through the camp leader's guide for what to bring and what NOT to bring.  We will leave for camp Sunday, June 28th, at 12:30pm from Robbie's Tire shop across from Nixa Christian Church.  Please ensure your scout has had lunch as this will not be provided.  They will need to wear Class A uniforms over a t-shirt (Class B) for the ride to camp as required by the BSA for insurance purposes.  It is preferred they are in their swim trunks as swim tests will be administered during our tour of camp when we arrive.  Adults will need to plan on being tested as well.  Have towels easily accessible.  We can use camp tents already set up, however, cots will be needed if sleeping in camp tents as they are on wood or concrete platforms. You can also bring your own tent.  Boys cannot share a tent with an adult unless a parent.  Send your questions my way.  No knives without your whittling chip and not to be in use without permission from a leader for safety of our younger Cubs.  Knives should be 3 inch or shorter blades that fold.  No sheath knives. Thanks.
